Gamification... The Adventure Continues

We arrived back in Austin late Saturday night, and as the wheels touched down, we looked at each other and said, "That was a GREAT trip!" 10 days in Valencia and Barcelona, Spain as part of my participation in the 2015  Gamification World Congress. The event itself was one of the most organized and best run events that I have ever been a part of as both as a speaker or an attendee. And the people were amazingly warm, gracious, generous, and FUN!

I was honored to deliver a workshop on Day 1 of the Congress on Gamification in the field of Talent Development. I also attended two workshops, one given by my colleague Yu-Kai Chou

and the other by Andrzej Marczewski.

I will be a better, more savvy gamification designer because of it!

As it turns out - Andrzej, Yu-Kai, and I were the top 3 finalists for the title of 2015 Gamification Guru of the Year. You can see more in the video below:

My favorite gamification guru, An Coppens gave a brilliant presentation with a feminine view of gamification. She has written a couple excellent blog articles recapping the event that you can read here.

Gamification captures measurement, behavior analysis, and engagement in ways that can provide a real-time understanding of performance, generate needed change, and enable organizations to meet their objectives.

Gamification is at the beginning of what will likely become an incredibly successful industry. Organizations will seek designers to help them explore the potential of gaming technology and ideas that produce behavioral and attitudinal change in education, talent development, productivity, and even, quality of life.

Will you join me in the adventure?
